James Watt Poster Competition

James Watt Poster Competition taking place at the First Annual Technical Conference, Wednesday 27th May 2020

As part of the University’s first Annual Technical Conference taking place on Wednesday 27th May 2020, we are making a call for entries for the James Watt Poster Competition. The competition provides an excellent opportunity to showcase and celebrate your unique technical contribution. This may encapsulate novel or innovative research or teaching, career development, collegiality or impact.

Entries will be judged on the day with prizes available for winners. 

What are the rules?

  • The maximum poster size allowed is size A1 (594 × 841 mm)
  • You must be in attendance on the day to present your poster
  • Joint posters may be submitted with one individual nominated to present the work and answer questions

How will entries be judged?

  • Clarity of submitted material
  • Novelty and originality
  • Visual impact
  • A panel of judges will mark the posters at the Conference
  • Winners will be announced at the end of the day

Please note that there are a limited number of spaces available with entries accepted on a first come first served basis. For those wishing to participate, please submit your ‘Intention to submit a poster’ email to tc-conference2020@glasgow.ac.uk by Friday 03 April 2020. The deadline to submit the electronic version (PDF) of your poster will be close of play Friday 15 May 2020, to the same email address. We will print your posters to display at the Conference.

The Technical Conference has already sparked a huge amount of interest from our technical community and promises to be an insightful and engaging day. Booking for the conference will open in the next few weeks and spaces will be limited. So, keep an eye on your inbox for registration details and we look forward to seeing you there!
