T2G: Transition to Glasgow - Postgrad Edition

A unique pre-sessional programme for postgraduate students

Transition to Glasgow: Postgraduate (T2G: Postgrad) is all about helping you make a successful transition to postgraduate-level study at the University of Glasgow.

T2G: Postgrad runs for a week from 8 to 12 September 2025 – so, just before you start your postgraduate course with us.

T2G: Postgrad is open to all new postgraduate taught students beginning courses with us in 2025/26 and the full programme takes place online – so, you don’t have to be physically in Glasgow (or Scotland!) yet to take part.

The programme focuses on the concept of ‘mastersness’: what it means to be a Master’s-level student and how you can successfully make the transition to postgraduate study. This includes sessions focusing on workload and time management, what assessment and feedback will look like in your area of study, how studying a postgraduate degree in a UK higher education context may differ from your previous experiences of university, and what kind of advice, guidance, and support is available to help you be as successful as possible in your studies at UofG.

The programme follows a conference format so you can attend the core T2G: Postgrad sessions and then choose the additional sessions/workshops that are most useful for you based on your course of study and/or your individual needs and interests. This means T2G: Postgrad will give you your first experience of being treated as a postgraduate-level student at the University, letting you take responsibility for your own development, introducing you to key members of UofG staff, and giving you the chance to meet other postgraduate students before your course begins!
