Specialist wastes training

SEPS provide two courses on the safe and legal disposal of specialist or hazardous wastes.  These include chemical and biologically hazardous wastes, including sharps, and waste electronic and electrical equipment.  Specific waste disposal arrangements and waste streams exist for these waste types.  For information on disposal of radiological wastes please see the Radiation Protection Service courses.

The full course covers all three waste types. However, a shorter option covering only chemical wastes is available and may be sufficient for some lab users.  These courses are open to all staff and postgraduate students and are presented by SEPS Environmental and General Safety Adviser. Both courses are free of charge.

  • Chemical Waste (1 hour)
  • Hazardous Waste - chemical, biological & WEEE (2 hours)
