New and Expectant Mothers at Work

New or expectant mothers can be at risk from common work hazards.  There is a legal requirement to assess such risks and to ensure that suitable control measures are in place to protect those who may be at risk.  All management units must have procedures in place for this.  Managers should be aware of this requirement, of the guidance contained in the attached document and also within relevant Health and Safety Executive publications. Advice may be sought from SEPS, from the Occupational Health Unit or from the Radiation Protection Service.
