Visualise Your Thesis Competition
Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) is an academic competition challenging graduate researchers at any stage of their candidature to present their projects in a 60-second, eye-catching, audio-visual digital display. The aim is to develop a striking video presentation that succinctly describes a PGR's research, and its potential benefits, to a non-specialist audience.
The competition provides PGRs with an opportunity to build and apply their digital literacy skills. By creating a “visual elevator pitch” they will develop crucial employability skills including effective communication, digital literacy, and visual storytelling. They will also build awareness of open access to information and copyright.
Eligibility
The Visualise Your Thesis competition is open to currently-enrolled graduate researchers (at masters or doctoral level) at any stage of their candidature who are active and attending.
Prizes
Prizes for the 2023 UofG VYT Competition were as follows:
First prize - £1000 research/travel grant
Second prize - £500 research/travel grant
People’s Choice prize - £150 voucher
The winning entry represents the University of Glasgow in the Visualise Your Thesis International Competition.
