CIPS 003 UofG ESG Standard Certificate
Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Awarding Body grant a certificate of recognition to Organisations that demonstrate they meet the objective requirements of this standard.
The Standard is a compilation of a series of standards under 5 Dimensions which are:
• Dimension 1 – Leadership and Organisation
• Dimension 2 – Strategy & Policy
• Dimension 3 – People
• Dimension 4 – Processes and Systems (Sourcing & Post-Contract Management)
• Dimension 5 – Performance Management
The University continues to demonstrate excellence in procurement and commercial practice through its commitment to continuous improvement and professional standards. The Procurement Office has held the prestigious CIPS Procurement Excellence Standard (Certification No. 0660) since 2015, providing independent assurance that procurement activity is delivered in accordance with internationally recognised best practice. During FY25/26, the University successfully achieved CIPS ESG Excellence Standard (Certification No. 003) valid until 01/2028, further reinforcing its commitment to environmental, social, and governance principles.

The University is also proud to have achieved the highest ranking, first place, in the Scottish Procurement and Commercial Improvement Programme (PCIP) assessment. This achievement reflects the strength of the University's procurement governance, leadership, commercial capability, contract management, and strategic contribution to University objectives.
GO Awards
The Scottish Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards and the UK National GO Awards recognise best practice procurement and allow public, third and private sector organisations to benchmark themselves against their peers from across Great Britain.
