Glasgow to remain in Protection Level 3, as cases rise in parts of city

On Friday the Scottish Government announced that, due to continuing high rates of COVID transmission, Glasgow will not move into Protection Level 2 at this time:

Although this is a disappointing development, it underlines the need to remain alert to COVID and continue to take actions to stay safe, including observing guidance around physical distancing, social gatherings and hygiene.

If you were planning on restarting in-person classes from this week, Schools will be in touch with alternative arrangements. If you are unclear about whether this applies to you, please consult your line manager.

If you were working on-campus during Protection Level 3, you should continue to do so. Please remember that we continue to take great care to ensure our campuses remain COVID secure and we do not currently have any incidences of transmission across our estate.

All staff and students at the University can access free and voluntary COVID testing if you are working on our campuses.

Everyone in Moray and Glasgow is encouraged to get tested to help stop the spread of COVID-19

Hopefully we will soon be able to move into Protection Level 2 and enjoy further easing of restrictions.
