Supporting Global Glasgow: doubling funding for partnership development

Our strategy, ‘World Changers Together’, reaffirms our commitment to global connectedness and collaboration. To help University of Glasgow colleagues build these global collaborations, the University has more than doubled the investment in the International Partnership Development Fund (IPDF).

For over ten years the International Partnership Development Fund (IPDF) has been used by University of Glasgow staff to pump prime the development of international partnerships with high-quality academic institutions and education providers worldwide.

For 2022, over £120,000 funding is available to support University of Glasgow staff in their work to build mutually beneficial international partnerships. 50% of the total annual allocation for the IPDF is for initiatives to work with existing partners.

Whilst we hope travel will be possible, we have also updated the guidelines of the IPDF to support and promote the use of online activities.

New for 2022

The IPDF will support 50% of costs with 50% match funding from School or College. However, for 2022, we are especially looking for applications to work in the following areas, and to be interdisciplinary in focus where feasible, and so the funding may increase to 100% (each application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis):

  • Student recruitment articulation pathways,
  • Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) activity,
  • Summer schools and other blended/short term mobility routes.

Application

The fund is open to all University of Glasgow staff members. Please refer to further details on the application process on the International Partnership Development (IPDF) webpage before applying.

The initial round of IPDF closes on 31 January 2022.

All funding must be allocated and spent by 31 July 2022.
