PDR launches for 2018, offering all colleagues an opportunity to reflect on their contribution and achievements over the preceding year

The Performance and Development Review (PDR) process continues to play a key role in helping us deliver our Inspiring People Changing the World Strategy and we are pleased to launch PDR 2017-18, writes Lesley Cummings, Head of Performance, Pay and Reward.

PDR is a University-wide process to support staff in maximizing their contribution and furthering their development. The three primary elements of PDR are:

  • Performance review
  • Setting of aligned objectives
  • Planning for relevant professional and career development

Our collective successes would not be possible without the contribution, commitment and talent of all colleagues across the University. Our PDR process offers all colleagues the opportunity to not only consider their personal contribution to these shared goals, but also to pause and reflect on an individual basis on their personal and career development goals.

Annual Cycle 2017-2018

For 2018, our PDR cycle will cover the usual period – 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018 – with access available from today, Wednesday 18 July 2018. The deadline for completion of your PDR is Friday 28 September 2018.

All staff have been given access to their online PDR form and will be able, in conjunction with their reviewer, to schedule their review before the end of September.

Rewarding Contribution

This year, we are pleased to confirm a slight change to Reward and Recognition from our approach in previous years, bringing this into a simplified process alongside PDR.

Our new blended approach to PDR and Reward & Recognition offers a simplified and streamlined process, which will help ensure those who recognised are rewarded more promptly, and as close to the PDR year under review as possible.

For further guidance, please see the Performance, Pay and Reward webpages.

We do hope you will find the 2018 PDR experience a valuable and positive one.

If you require any assistance with this year’s PDR process, please do not hesitate to contact the Performance, Pay and Reward Team on pdrdataenquiries@glasgow.ac.uk or visit our webpages for more information.
