Get support with your promotion application

New videos are now online to support staff applying for promotions on Research & Teaching and on Learning, Teaching & Scholarship career tracks.

Following the recent launch of the 2016 promotion round, the University has prepared some video resources to support staff on Research & Teaching and on Learning, Teaching & Scholarship career tracks.

There are 3 videos, each considering a different aspect of how you might express your learning and teaching and related activities in your application.

  • The first video addresses the nature of learning and teaching in a research-intensive University environment, and the different dimensions of the teaching role that might be captured in an application.
  • The second video addresses the presentation of evidence in support of learning and teaching and related activities.
  • The third video focuses on scholarship of learning and teaching in terms of how it is defined, how it relates to both career tracks, and in particular, how it relates to the overall profile of candidates on the Learning, Teaching and Scholarship track.

If you are applying for promotion on the Learning, Teaching & Scholarship track and are now required to write an Account of Professional Practice, look out for details of the drop-in sessions which will be provided in due course. In the meantime, you are encouraged to consult these videos and the guidance provided on the HR website, to maximise the value of the drop-in session.

You can find the videos on the Human Resources Performance Pay and Reward web pages.
