Stevenson Trust for Citizenship 2015 lecture series:

‌Date: Tuesday 2 June 2015
Time: 18:00 - 19:30
Venue: Sir Charles Wilson Lecture Theatre
Topic: Whither Britain after the 2015 UK election?

The Conservatives' unexpected success in the general election means that Britain now faces the prospect of a referendum on its membership of the European Union.

At the same time the success of the SNP in Scotland suggests continuing uncertainty about Scotland's place in the Union while the harsh way in which the electoral system treated UKIP, the Greens and the Liberal Democrats seems set to renew debate abut the country's electoral system.

Proffesor John Curtice will address both why the Conservatives won and the possible implications of the result for Britain's future.

Stevenson events are free and open to all staff and students and staff at the University of Glasgow and to the general public.

There is no need to book. For further details, email: stevensontrust@glasgow.ac.uk
