Principal on SFC

The University's Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli, has been reappointed as a Non-Executive Member to the Scottish Funding Council.

Cabinet Secretary for Education & Lifelong Learning, Angela Constance, has announced the reappointment of the University's Principal, Professor Anton Muscatelli as a Non-Executive Member to the Scottish Funding Council.

Professor Muscatelli is joined by Maggie Kinloch, Keith Nicholson and Marlene Wood.

The Principal's academic field is economics and his knowledge of economic analysis and development will support the SFC’s strategic planning.  He has served as a member of the Research Grants Board of the Economic and Social Research Council and its International Advisory Committee, and until 2010 he was also a special adviser on monetary policy to the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee. 

He is currently a member of the Scottish Governments Council of Economic Advisers.  He is also a Director of the National Centre for Universities and Business, and was previously the Convener of the Universities Scotland and Vice-President of Universities UK.
