Share with students

To share your reading list with your students you need to embed the reading list URL into your Moodle Course pages. This will link directly to your reading list.

How to add a reading list to your Moodle Course:

  • Go to your Moodle course and turn on the editor
  • Select where you would like your reading list to appear and choose Add an activity or resource
  • Choose Reading Lists @ Glasgow from the list of activities and resources
  • You can name the activity anything you like, e.g. Course Reading List
  • Scroll down and select Save and Display
  • Select Open in new window
  • Enter the Course Code only (without spaces, i.e. LIFE1000) in the search box, select the list required (if there are several lists, select the one for the current academic year) and choose Embed list on the right-hand side
  • The list has now been embedded to your Moodle course
  • If you wish to link to specific sections of your list rather than the full reading list, please let us know at library-readinglists@glasgow.ac.uk and we will provide specific instructions for linking to specific sections.

Share editing rights for your list with colleagues

While only one name will appear as the owner of a list in Reading Lists @ Glasgow, lists can be owned and edited by more than one person. To share the ownership of a list, select Edit and choose Invite List Publishers from the drop-down menu.

Enter the email address(es) of your colleague(s), separated by commas, then select Send invites. Please note that you must use a University of Glasgow email address. The invite will be sent from a Talis email address (Talis are the system provider). Please also note that the invite must be accepted by the person for them to be able to edit the list.
