Call for Bids: Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) & Learning & Teaching Development Fund (LTDF)

Learning & Teaching Development Fund (LTDF)
The LTDF supports developments that will contribute to the enhancement of learning and teaching across the University and to the delivery of the objectives of the Learning and Teaching Strategy. All University of Glasgow staff are eligible to bid for funds, and LTDF funding may be used to match other funding.
Bids are invited for Small (up to £3,000) and Large (£3,001 to £10,000) projects that address key priorities in the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy in ways that advance our learning, teaching and assessment practices.
Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL)
This fund supports the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), that is, the evaluation of learning, teaching and assessment in higher education, and has been created to support work that will provide insight into the enhancement of learning and teaching and create an evidence base for change. SoTL normally involves collecting data, analysing and publishing findings. It can result in a reflective paper or literature review or evaluation of teaching or assessment practice. The purpose of the SoTL Fund is to encourage sharing knowledge both within the University of Glasgow and across the Higher Education sector.
The scheme is intended to support staff who are experienced in SoTL and those who have less experience. As such, applications that bring together colleagues with SoTL experience and those without are especially encouraged. There is an active SoTL network with around 400 members that you can also join if you are not already a member and where support, guidance and collaborators can be found.
Please note that an expression of interest is required for all SoTL bids and large LTDF bids.
Review of Student Staff Partnership Schemes
This year a review will be undertaken by students to take a fresh approach to student partnership by evaluating best practice in embedding student partners in strategic developments. Based on the students’ findings, the partnership schemes will be redesigned and re-launched next year.
