All students and staff at The University of Glasgow receive access to the OneDrive for Business online storage. This course aims to provide an introduction to the OneDrive for Business service and how to use it’s most useful features.

The course will be delivered in an instructor led environment using your University Office 365 account.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the main benefits to using OneDrive for Business storage
  • Identify what data should and should not be stored on your OneDrive for Business drive
  • Enable auditing tools for your OneDrive for Business account
  • Create new documents on your OneDrive for Business drive
  • Upload files and folders to your OneDrive for Business drive
  • Share folders with collaborators and colleagues
  • Collaborate in real time when creating documents on OneDrive for Buisiness
  • Manage your files and folders using OneDrive for Business
  • Retrieve previously saved versions and deleted files

Sway

  • Half day

Microsoft Sway makes it easy to create and share interactive reports, presentations and more. In this half-day session delegates will learn how to use text, images and other content to create and share a Sway.

The course will be delivered in an instructor led environment using your University Office 365 account.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the main functions and uses of Microsoft Sway
  • Use a range of interactive content to produce a Sway
  • Share your Sway with others

Microsoft Forms

3 Hours

Microsoft Forms is an online tool that allows quick authoring sharing and completion of online surveys.  Supplied within your Office 365 Education licence, MS forms is a secure method of performing surveys or online quizes (which are automatically marked).  Microsoft forms is available to all staff and students of the University of Glasgow. 

This short course provides attendees with a walk through of all the major features of the online tool.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Create a Microsoft Office Form
  • Create questions requiring different forms of input from your users
  • Edit and apply a customised theme to your form
  • Preview and complete a form in desktop mode
  • Preview and complete a form in mobile mode
  • Change who can view and complete your forms
  • Share your forms with others
  • Browse the responses to your form from within a web browser
  • Download and analyse form responses in Excel
  • Check dates, book a place, or note interest

Microsoft OneNote

3 hours

OneNote is a free-form note taking and information management application supplied as part of Microsoft’s Office 365 suite of applications.  It is a highly effective tool used to aid study, research and teaching.  This course aims to provide a basic introduction to it’s use.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  • Adding content to notes, including screen clippings, images, audio, and video
  • Search notes quickly and efficiently
  • Use Tags to structure note taking
  • Organise your notes using Sections, Pages and Subpages
  • Convert Images to searchable text
  • Use Templates to create well structured notes
