Accessible content is better content

Digitally accessible content is easier for everyone to access. It's the right thing to do, and it's the law.

Ensuring our digital content is accessible fits with our values, and supports the University’s aims as relating to widening access, civic engagement and inclusivity. We also have legal obligations to ensure our digital content is accessible, under the Equality Act 2010, and Digital Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Inclusive design

Making your content accessible and inclusive ensures it can be used by as many people as possible.

The top three accessibility issues at UofG are:

  • PDFs with no headings or titles
  • Poor colour contrast
  • No alternative text (alt text) for images

Addressing these problems is a great place to start.
