UofG’s CVR contributes to Ebola health emergency
The MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research (CVR) will play a key role in new studies to assess whether vaccines already or previously licensed against Zaire ebolavirus—including Ervebo—could offer protection against Bundibugyo ebolavirus, the virus behind the rapidly escalating outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern by the World Health Organization (WHO) in May 2026.
