There are many examples of excellent practice in assessment and feedback at the University of Glasgow. Within this Toolkit, we have gathered examples of case studies in good practice, resources for developing your practice, and, below, information on the support offered at the University for developing assessment and feedback within your course.
Courses and support

Benchmarking
It is vital to monitor the quality of your assessment and feedback practice, and to ensure that your approach evolves with the needs of the students and the University direction. A good place to start is by reviewing the Principles of Assessment and Feedback for Learning and the Essentials of Assessment and Feedback for Learning. The Principles act as a guide for developing your assessment and feedback practice, while the Essentials outline set criteria to be met by assessment and feedback practice across the University.
Sharing practice
The University of Glasgow offers multiple opportunities for sharing good practice in assessment and feedback:
- You can contribute a case study of good practice to this Toolkit, by getting in touch section.
- The Annual University of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Conference offers a national platform for showcasing examples of excellent practice. Check the Conference website for abstract submission dates.
