Support for Turkey and Syria
The devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria has deeply shocked and saddened us all. We recognise that many within our community will be directly affected by this tragedy, and we will do everything that we can to provide support during this difficult time.
Support for affected staff and students
This is an emergency situation and we are committed to continuing to support those affected and to taking further action as required.
The University has directly contacted students from Turkey and Syria with the offer of extended support. And we will imminently be contacting impacted colleagues to offer targeted assistance.

Vigil: Thursday 16 February at 6pm in our Cloisters
Our Vigil provided an opportunity to come together as a community and express our sympathy and solidarity for the people of Turkey and Syria.
Emergency appeals
A number of organisations have launched emergency appeals to support people in Turkey and Syria. These include UNICEF and the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), an umbrella organisation of British charities that coordinates support for international disasters (DEC includes Islamic Relief, ActionAid and Save the Children)
