We are delighted to invite you to an open reception on Monday 17 June from 12pm to 2pm to mark Refugee Week, where we will honour the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees in our community. Please feel free to drop by anytime between 12:00pm and 2:00pm*.
Enjoy a selection of soft drinks and canapés while connecting with others who share a commitment to supporting refugees and raising awareness of their experiences. Our Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Rachel Sandison, will deliver a short welcome speech at 12:30 PM. We will be joined by University of Glasgow staff who can provide support regarding scholarships and answer any questions that you might have throughout your University application process.
Additionally, there will be an opportunity to write a heartfelt note for Refuweegee's 'Letter fae a Local.' These messages of welcome are included in the charity's welcome packs for new arrivals in Glasgow, providing a warm and supportive greeting to those who have been forced to leave their homes.
