We would like to make you aware of an exciting upcoming opportunity - applications are now open for the Central China Normal University 'Chinese Excellence' Summer Programme 2025 - with two four-week sessions available, taking place between 13th June to 10th August 2025. Applicants can choose to attend Session 1 for four weeks, Session 2 for four weeks or both sessions for the full eight weeks.

Introduction:    

The immersive exchange aims provide students with the opportunity to enhance their learning of Chinese language and cultural experience.

The programme consists of four main compo­nents: Chinese language enhancement courses, cultural lectures, cultural experiences, and local and cultural site visits. Student's will develop comprehensive Chinese skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a multi-layered course design and learning tasks.

The programme combines theory with practice, providing learners with opportunities to use Chinese and experience Chinese culture in real-life situations.

Application Eligibility & Process 

Eligibility:   

  • Applicants should be aged at least 18 years old at the time of the programme start date. 
  • Only non-Chinese nationals are eligible to apply. 
  • Applicants must have been studying Chinese language for at least one year, if you would like more information on whether your learning circumstances or experience apply then please get in touch and we can advise further.

The deadline for completed applications is Tuesday 20th May 2025 at midnight.

Programme Fees 

There will be tuition fees applicable for this programme, which will cover the language and cultural course delivery, course materials, on-campus accomodation (double room in international dormitory), entrance tickets to scheduled cultural site visits.

The fees will be as follows:

  • Application Fee - 300RMB (only applicable if applying to one session, exempted if applying for both sessions)
  • Session 1 - 7000RMB
  • Session 2 - 7000RMB

Applicants will also be required to pay for and arrange their own:   

  • Visa application fees
  • International return flights
  • Travel insurance for full travel period

*It is very important that you do not book flights, arrange travel insurance or apply for your Visa until your summer school application result has been confirmed as successful.*
