We would like to make you aware of an exciting upcoming opportunity - applications are now open for the Central China Normal University International Summer School 2026, taking place between 22 June to 6 July 2026.

The Summer School integrates cutting-edge technologies with immersive Chinese culture experience, offering participants a unique academic and cultural journey. Through the program, you will:

  • Keep up with the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence and its application
  • Engage in face-to-face discussions with world-renowned scholars and industrial
    leaders
  • Collaborate with peer students on a the mini project under expert guidance
  • Explore Chinese traditional culture, broaden your global perspective, visit historical sites, and enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine
  • Visit leading IT companies or research labs based in Wuhan

Program Structure and Culture Experience:

1. Mini Project (Artificial Intelligence in Education)

This part features lectures and hands-on project work guided by academic experts in the field of AI in Education. Participants will also take part in IT company visits or laboratory tours, gaining first-hand exposure to real-world applications and cutting-edge research.

2. Chinese Language & Culture 

Under the guidance of instructors experienced in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, students will develop a basic foundation in the Chinese language while engaging in a variety of cultural activities.
In addition, students will participate in field trips and cultural tours throughout the summer school, offering deeper insights into China’s history, society, and contemporary development.

Who can apply:

The Summer School welcomes applications from the following groups of students: 

  • Junior or senior undergraduate students from University of Glasgow
  • First- or second-year postgraduate students
  • Students with science or engineering backgrounds are preferred, especially those with a basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence

Credits and Certification:

Certificates will be issued by Central China Normal University (CCNU) to students who participate in the Summer School and successfully complete all required coursework and projects.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Be between the 18-35 years old;
  • Provide proof of English proficiency (required for non- English native speaking applicants;
    TOEFL, GRE, or IELTS scores are preferred forms of proof);
  • Pay the tuition (applicable to self-financed students only).

The deadline for completed applications is Wednesday 15 April 2026 at 5:00pm.

Programme Fees 

There are three funded scholarship places available for University of Glasgow students, which would cover the in-country costs of tuition, accommodation, meals and transport during the programme duration in China. However, applicants will be required to pay for and arrange their own:   

  • Visa application fees (if applicable)
  • International return flights
  • Travel insurance for full travel period

*It is very important that you do not book flights, arrange travel insurance or apply for your Visa until your summer school application result has been confirmed as successful.*
