We are offering alumni an opportunity to become part of the solution to the climate change challenge by registering for one of our new online microcredential courses.

Microcredential courses are short, credit-bearing courses with long-term impact on your career. The ten-week-long courses provide ten credits at Masters level and are fully flexible to fit in around you.

  • Climate Change & Carbon Literacy will provide you with key resources to understand where a business or an individual needs to start to assess and improve their sustainable practices. It is relevant to a wide range business sectors from manufacturing to the service industry. The course will familiarise you with strategies, action plans, and models to help you and your organisation to take practical steps toward sustainable change.
  • Systems Thinking: Climate Change & Sustainable Decision Making will explore tools and theories that help you create solutions for a sustainable future by shifting your mindset away from looking at individual, siloed components of a system in isolation and shifting toward understanding how these components interrelate and interconnect. The course is focused on developing personal and professional skills that will enable you to make practical and positive change, both in your personal life and within your workplace.

Professor Jaime Toney, Director of UofG’s Centre for Sustainable Solutions, is course leader for both courses: “These courses are designed to help learners find new ways to do their part to make those changes happen in their own lives, communities and workplaces, and to better understand the global context of climate change.”

Courses cost just £799, and there are a limited number of fully funded places available for Scottish-domiciled learners thanks to the Scottish Funding Council Upskilling fund. UofG alumni anywhere in the world can use this exclusive discount code for up to 20% off: UPSK5121AL.

We also offer a number of other microcredential courses, including:

  • Impact of Trauma on Mental Health
  • Applied Data Skills
  • Leading Successful Teams.

More courses will be launched in 2022.
