A generous donation of $2 million has been given by Professor George M Simpson (BSc 1948) to support research that will develop and improve our understanding of the neurobiological basis of mental disorders. The Emeritus Professor of Research Psychiatry at the University of Southern California has also made a generous gift provision in his will to UofG of $6 million. This will enable the creation of a number of Simpson Fellows who will work in the field of biological psychiatry.
