Summary

Professor Douglas Gollin (Tufts University and Oxford) will lead a PhD workshop on structural change, growth, and economic development, covering frontier topics in the field alongside foundational frameworks. The course will examine how the reallocation of labour and resources across agriculture, industry, and services shapes long-run development outcomes, with attention to productivity gaps, sectoral linkages, and current research questions.

Participation and poster submission

Individuals interested in participating or presenting their poster should complete the online form by August 31th, 2026. The final list of participants and poster presenters will be communicated by September 14th.

There are no participation fees, however participants are responsible for their own accommodation, transportation and meals. PhD students from the University of Glasgow have precedence.

Poster submission: PhD students and early career researchers who would like to participate in the poster session should submit an extended abstract (max 1000 words). While all selected posters will be eligible for the best poster prize, projects where all the coauthors are at most three years out of their PhDs will be given precedence.
