Glasgow Science Festival 2026

To celebrate World Ocean Day, we’re pleased to be showing the 2002’s Whale Rider. Join us for this heartbreaking Māori tale about legacy, family, and acceptance. In this cult coming-of-age classic set on the east coast of New Zealand, 12-year-old Pai dreams of becoming chief of her Māori tribe, tracing her ancestry back to the legendary whale rider, Paikea.
