James Watt Bicentenary Celebration Dinner

Thursday 6 June, Bute Hall, University of Glasgow

The James Watt Bicentenary Celebration Dinner brought together Academics, Alumni, and Industry Contacts within the beautiful setting of the Bute Hall. Featuring entertainment from the Unviersity of Glasgow Choir, the attendees also heard from Professor David Cumming, Professor Muffy Calder and Professor Gordon Masterton.

We were also delighted to welcome reunion groups made up of 1954, 1959 and 1969 University of Glasgow Engineering graduates.

The Symposium was one of a range of events hosted by the University of Glasgow during 2019 to mark the bicentenary of the passing of James Watt, one of the pioneers of the Industrial Revolution and mathematical instrument maker to the University of Glasgow.
