IntoUniversity: Inspiring Ambition
In 2021, you helped to make it possible for education charity IntoUniversity, the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh to launch a ground-breaking collaboration addressing unequal access to higher education in our two cities.
It’s a sad reality that young people growing up in many parts of our city and country face obstacles to accessing higher education. But the innovative IntoUniversity centres, based in the heart of the communities they serve, are closing the attainment gap and making a meaningful difference. Located in Craigmillar, Govan and Maryhill, these centres have now supported over 6,000 young people since opening, providing access to educational support that raises aspirations and achievement.

Our Access To Opportunity Fund creates opportunities for those who face barriers to higher education. The fund provides essential support – both financial and pastoral – at every stage of the university journey.
