ESRC IAA Accelerating Business Collaboration (ABC) Programme - Second Seed Fund Call Now Closed

The primary aim of Accelerating Business Collaboration Award (ABC) from ESRC is to build the capacity and capability of early career academics (ECAs) in the social sciences to engage and create opportunities to collaborate with business. Funded by the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF), the award seeks to contribute to the economic and societal development within the UK and beyond, taking into account the current context and future challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. 

ABC Seed Fund - Round 2 Closed 

A core component of the ABC programme is a Seed Fund designed to support ECAs, in open or fixed-term contracts, who have established relations or identified business partners engage in knowledge exchange or deliver impact activities.   

Following on from the opening call back in September, this second round of funding will give successful applicants a strong community of support throughout the project, including potential 1:1 coaching with professional development coaches and access to peer learning networks, to give applicants the best opportunity in delivering a successful project. 

Awards of up to £6k will be made available to support projects ending no later than 31st August 2021. We are particularly interested in projects: 

  • With clear potential to develop sustainable business relationships 
  • Supporting research ideas seeking to be developed into a business or social enterprise 
  • Drawing on interdisciplinary research , ideally aligning with the Colleges R&KE Strategy IRTs
