The MVLS Engagement Team can:

  • provide training to develop public engagement skills and understanding
  • work to help embed and expand a culture of public engagement across MVLS
  • support Requests for bespoke training
  • help fund external engagement training courses
  • promote mentoring
  • create network /discussion opportunities - to share new thinking and engagement ideas
  • offer the chance to  ‘test run' your activity in a supportive environment

Our training opportunities are designed to assist you along your public engagement journey. Whether you’re starting out and need support to communicate your research outside the university, or are ready to develop a dialogue and work with external groups on engaged research.

Quick Start Guide to Public Engagement  - Advice on how to start sharing your research with the public.

Introduction to Public Engagement with Research  - MVLS Moodle  - This self-guided training Moodle explores how we define public engagement at UofG, the history of public engagement with research, current public attitudes towards science, and why public engagement should be part of your research.  Suitable for all research staff this will help with understanding what we mean by public engagement and the benefits it can bring to individuals and our research.  

Community Engagement: An Exploration – new self guided online course explores some of the many ‘what?’, ‘why?’ and ‘how?’ considerations related to community engagement.
