Finding the right funding option for your public engagement (PE) research can be complex, with a range of options available for different areas of study.

We have listed below funding opportunities likely to be most relevant to MVLS staff and students.

MVLS IEE Public Engagement Delivery Fund

Open call fund for all MVLS staff and PhD students to support the development and delivery of public engagement with research activities. The fund is intended to provide resource where the applicant cannot source budget from other avenues e.g. research grants.

Before submission, you are welcome to discuss your idea / proposal with the MVLS Engagement Team mvls-engage@glasgow.ac.uk. They can talk you through your ideas, funding criteria etc.,

Glasgow Knowledge Exchange Fund

The Glasgow Knowledge Exchange Fund (GKE) is an internal investment fund established by the University to support research staff to deliver high-quality knowledge exchange activities and impact generation from UofG research.

As part of this it supports research-based community and public engagement initiatives, locally and globally, to drive mutually beneficial interactions around research and the creation of strong, well-evidenced impact.; 

The scheme operates via two streams; the GKE Flexible Fund, for grants of £2,000-£30,000, and the GKE Small Grants Fund, for grants of less than £2,000.

UofG Chancellor's Fund

This University of Glasgow Fund has supported engagement projects and is open to all MVLS staff and students. Established in 1999, the Chancellor’s Fund supports innovative, exciting projects that have an impact across the University and wider community.

ScotPEN Wellcome Engagement Award (SWEA)

The ScotPEN Wellcome Engagement Award (SWEA) is now closed. Wellcome funded researchers at Scottish universities are able to access Wellcome funding and support for public engagement through the Research Enrichment: Public Engagement scheme.
