Since the inaugural event in September 2017 the 'Promoting Partnerships: precision diagnostics molecular pathology and imaging' network has continued to grow and provides a regular opportunity for academic-industry engagement.

The network aims to bring together researchers, clinicians, biomedical and clinical scientists, health economists, translational and commercialisation colleagues and industry representatives supporting the development of precision diagnostics (molecular and imaging) and associated technologies or software.

These network meetings highlight research being undertaken across the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences; relevant industry technologies and developments to support development of precision diagnostics and enable networking and knowledge exchange across a diverse range of professionals.  Additionally the meetings update on initiatives which support the development of diagnostics such as the the Glasgow Molecular Pathology Node and the Imaging Centre of Excellence.

Meetings which take place every 2 months are aimed at: supporting the identification of potential collaborative research; discussing common challenges; highlighting forthcoming events and funding opportunities and provide a regular forum for industry-academic networking.

The next meeting takes place on the 31st May (13.00 - 16.30 pm) on Level 2 of the Imaging Centre for Excellence, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and includes presentations from IMIDBio, Perkin Elmer and Fluidigm in addition to an introduction to the Scottish Digital Pathology Pilot.
