UKRI

UKRI is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). It maintains 7 research councils, funded by the government to support research on national priorities.

AHRC

The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funds researchers in a wide range of subjects from history and archaeology to philosophy and languages. They also fund research including the design and effectiveness of digital content and the impact of artificial intelligence.

ESRC

ESRC supports funding for research on economic and social issues,which has an impact on business, the public sector and civil society.

GCRF

The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a five year, £1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries. It is funded through ESRC.
