A group of academics and musicians led by UofG's Dr David Archibald explore what the history of a city sound, look and feel like in song.

What might the history of a city sound, look and feel like if it was presented in song?

That's the question being explored by The Tenementals - a group of academics and musicians led by the School of Culture and Creative Arts' Dr David Archibald, a Senior Lecturer in Film and Television Studies.

The Tenementals played their first full perfomance at the Glasgow Trades Hall on the closing weekend of the recent Glasgow Doors Open Festival.

Last week, their performance received the "Outstanding Event" of the festival at a Civic Reception in Glasgow City Chambers.

This is no mean feat, given the festival hosted hundreds of public events over the course of its 10 day run in September 2022.
