The 1979 Delta Club celebrated their 40th anniversary back on campus

The 40th reunion weekend had an excellent start on Friday with a visit to the Anatomy Department. Professor John Shaw-Dunn entertained us as much as he had 45 years ago.

That evening many enjoyed a ‘Meet & Greet’ supper in what we once knew as ‘The Men’s Union’.

Saturday morning was somewhat damp, but a ‘Culture Walk’ from GOMA to Kelvingrove was well-attended, whilst others played golf, or cycled to Balloch.

That afternoon we were privileged to be the first group to have a tour of the impressive new campus site. Later, Marion Morrison also impressed us with tales of obstetrics in Pakistan.

In the evening 115 of us enjoyed an excellent dinner in the University’s Kelvin Gallery. Unimpeded by speeches or music by popular demand, we especially enjoyed all the chatting after dinner. It was great to welcome some that we’d not seen for 40 years, and many who had come from far away.

A few survivors washed up in Oran Mhor on Sunday morning for a final farewell.
