1966 BVMS Reunion

The BVMS class of 1966 celebrated their 60th anniversary reunion with a visit back to the Gilmorehill and the School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine.
In May, the Glasgow Vet Graduates of 1966 celebrated the 60th anniversary of their graduation with a special reunion in Glasgow.
It was their 13th reunion and very special. Of the 25 surviving members of the Year, 22 of them came to Glasgow from all parts of the UK and one from Canada. Illness prevented the other three members from attending. With spouses and widows, 35 were present at the reunion.
They enjoyed tours of Gilmorehill and the Vet School at Garscube, where, on both visits, they were fascinated by the amazing developments that have taken place since their graduation.
Another key feature of the reunion was a dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel, where they were entertained by after-dinner speeches from several members of the Year, including Jim Wight, a member of the 1966 Year, and the son of Alf Wight (aka James Herriot).
The Vet Year of 1966 has been a generous supporter of the Vet Fund and intends to continue giving its support in the future (and to continue to hold reunions!).
