Research

The School of Veterinary Medicine forms part of the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences. Within the College, veterinary research has been developed in a broader scientific context, linked closely to medical and life sciences, facilitating a more integrated approach to global human and animal health. Within the School itself, our veterinary clinicians undertake a broad range of clinical veterinary research activity in equine, production and small animal medicine, developing new understanding, techniques and applications to improve clinical service provision, and wider industry & public health.

In the 2014 UK-wide Research Excellence Framework, veterinary research at Glasgow was ranked top amongst the UK veterinary schools for research quality with an outstanding contribution to societal impact globally.
