Student Experience Forum (STEF)

The Student Experience Forum (STEF) was formed in 2019.  Its aim is to enhance the student experience for Social and Political Sciences' (SPS) students by supporting our School student societies and building a stronger student community within the School.
 
The Forum comprises SPS student society representatives, an undergraduate and postgraduate representative, as well as staff from the School, and College of Social Sciences.
 
The group meets regularly throughout each semester to plan events, share ideas and evaluate ways to make student life even more vibrant.
 
STEF organises and hosts a range of different events throughout the year and a Digital Yearbook of memories for our graduating class at the end of each academic year.

2024/2025 Events

The Big Welcome

Our welcome event for new and returning and students was held at the GUU on Friday 4th October 2024. Students worked in teams to solve problems, compete for prizes and learn new skills!

The Big Get Together

We held our fourth annual STEF Big Get Together on Friday 7th February 2025 at the GUU. Students and staff across the School came together for a 'pub quiz', hosted by our own students, complete with prizes!

The SPS Student Ball

The School-wide Student Ball was held on Friday 28th March 2025 and was a great opportunity to celebrate the end of exams.

The Big Shindig

We came together and danced to The Jiggers at our annual ceilidh on Thursday 22nd May which marked the end of the academic year.

2023/2024 Events

The Big Welcome 

Our welcome event for new and returning students was held at the GUU on Friday 6 October 2023. Student were able to make new connections through People Bingo and working in teams to take part in five activities.

The Big Get Together 

We held our third annual STEF Big Get Together on Friday 16 February 2024 at the GUU. Students and staff across the School came together for a 'pub quiz', hosted by our own students, complete with prizes!

The SPS Student Ball

We held our first ever School-wide Student Ball on Friday 22 March 2024 at the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel. It was great to celebrate the end of exams, dressed up to the nines.

For the second year we came together and danced to The Jiggers at our annual ceilidh. This took place on Friday 24 May 2024 and marked the end of the academic year.

2022/2023 Events

The Big Welcome 

Our welcome event for new and returning students was held on Friday 7 October 2022 at the GUU. Students mixed through our People Bingo activity and in groups, recreated the Adam Smith Building with marshmallows and spaghetti.

We held our second annual STEF Big Get Together on Friday 17 February 2023 at the GUU. Students and staff across the School came together for a 'pub quiz', hosted by our own Professor Georgios Karyotis, complete with guitar playing from Georgios for the live music round.
