We are excited to share that the Place-Based Research Programme will be participating in the upcoming Global Placemaking Summit in Tkaronto/Toronto, taking place 8-11 June 2025.

Hosted by PlacemakingX and Placemaking Canada, the Summit brings together urbanists, community leaders, artists and researchers from around the world to celebrate, guide, and grow the evolution of placemaking learning, leadership, advocacy and action. The Place-Based Research Programme will be acting as agenda leader on the theme of 'Place Attachment and Lovability'. continuing our exploration on the emotional connection between people and places.

Our participation in the Global Summit is part of the partnership work we are carrying out in the second phase of the programme (2023-2027), where we seek to think alongside national and international organisations and networks about creating the conditions for advancing people-centred approaches to place.

We look forward to connecting our research with a wider international community of practice.
