In Loving Memory

Our daughter, Abigail (Abby) Wheeler

2001 – 2026

Abby is from Piedmont, California, USA, a small town near San Francisco. She graduated in 2025 from University of Glasgow with a major in Sociology. Abby was living and working in Scotland post graduation. She died July 26, 2026 in a scuba diving accident in Loch Fyne.

Abby loved the ocean and its sea life. She also loved her friends, geocaching, music, travel and reading books. She had a great sense of humor and a joy for living.

Her lecturers, Dr. Ida Norberg and Dr. Lito Tsitsou, remember Abby for her enthusiasm, kindness, perseverance, and hard work. Abby was attuned to questions of social justice and was a thoughtful and perceptive student. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her at GU.

Abby also will be sorely missed by her parents Faye Beverett and Charlie Wheeler. She is survived by uncles, aunts-in-law and cousins.
