Glasgow Human Rights Network appoints new Convenor

Dr Vikki Turbine has recently been appointed as Convenor of the Glasgow Human Rights Network. This cross-university network brings together academics, practitioners and activists working on all areas of human rights. They also facilitate interdisciplinary research, teaching and outreach on human rights in Glasgow and across Scotland.

The Network hosts a regular programme of events throughout the year, including an annual human rights lecture in October. All events are free and open to the public. They also collaborate with Document International Film Festival and will be supporting a critical forum aimed at postgraduate students at this year’s festival in October 2017.

Details of the programme of events for 2017/18 will be announced soon. Updates will also be announced via their Twitter channel, @GlasgowHumRts, and their blog

Please contact Dr Turbine Vikki.Turbine@glasgow.ac.uk and Network administrator David Wright David.Wright@glasgow.ac.uk if you would like any further information about the network or if you would like to:

  • become a member and sign up to our mailing list;
  • discuss potential collaboration for a human rights related event (from advertising to partner support);
  • discuss an idea for a potential contribution to our blog

The Network particularly welcomes interest from postgraduate students and early career researchers.
