Economic & Social History graduate and Graduate Teaching Assistant recognised by the University Teaching Excellence Awards Panel.

Andrea Thomson’s superb contribution as a GTA in Economic and Social History since 2010-11 has been recognised with the news that she has won a University of Glasgow Teaching Excellence Award. This represents further and well-merited acknowledgement of her achievements and record as a champion of student learning, following her receipt of SRC Teaching Awards, in the category Best Postgraduate Who Tutors, in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

The University Teaching Excellence Awards Panel, chaired by Professor Frank Coton, Vice Principal (Learning and Teaching), clearly recognised the value of Andrea’s efforts as a GTA: her commitment, intelligence and effectiveness in the classroom, as a tutor over several years, and more recently as a lecturer; and her exemplary coursework feedback, which exhibits tremendous diligence, sensitivity and perception.

Andrea will receive the Award from the Principal at a graduation ceremony in June.
