My MSc Global Economy Journey

I am originally from Kaduna, Nigeria, and have a strong interest in economics, finance and international development. I chose to study the MSc Global Economy at the University of Glasgow to deepen my understanding of how global economic policies, trade and financial systems shape economies and organisations. I currently work as a Financial Reporting Officer with the UK Department for Business and Trade, supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Studying the MSc Global Economy at the University of Glasgow was a highly rewarding experience that has had a lasting impact on my personal and professional development. The programme strengthened my analytical, research and critical-thinking skills and gave me a deeper understanding of global economic issues, which I continue to apply in my career.
I particularly valued the practical application of economic theory to real-world challenges and the opportunity to learn alongside people from diverse backgrounds. Beyond academics, I made friendships that have become lifelong relationships and developed meaningful connections with tutors that have continued even after completing the programme. I am grateful for the knowledge, experiences and lasting relationships the University of Glasgow gave me.
