Research interests
I received my PhD, where I explored sensory processing in autistic people from the School of Psychology at the University of Glasgow in 2013. After my PhD, I worked in MVLS (also University of Glasgow) exploring anxiety in autistic people, the University of Dundee as a Lecturer. I then went to Coventry University to work on a project exploring suicidality in autistic adults, before returning to the University of Glasgow as a Lecturer in August 2020.
I currently work as Programme lead for Psychology courses on Psychological Studies (conversion course led by School of Education). I also lead Research Methods 2 and MSc Conversion dissertation.
Working in partnership with autistic people, my main research interests are mainly related to a) better understanding mental health in autistic people, and exploring protective and risk factors for this, and b) better understanding sensory processing in autistic people.
