My research interests are around young people's health and wellbeing, exploring how schools, policymakers and parents can support this through evidence-based approaches informed by the adolescent voice.
My PhD research focused on how young people's experiences on social media interact with sleep, mental health and wellbeing. This combined methodologies to move beyond "screentime" and instead explore the unique social, emotional and cognitive processes linking social media interactions to sleep.
I have worked in partnership with schools across Scotland to explore supporting healthy sleep, mental health and social media literacy. A current project is exploring evidence-based approaches to supporting wellbeing specifically for young people with disabilities and long-term health conditions.
