Research interests

I have a clinical background in Occupational Therapy and experience in cognitive rehabilitation. For my PhD I worked under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Evans and Dr. Kerry Kilborn. With my PhD work I contributed to resolve some outstanding questions in the field of prospective memory.

After my PhD I carried out a small pilot project on the use of neurofeedback in brain injured population. My research was focused on the functional relevance of neural variability and how this can be considered as a marker of cognitive capacity.

I am currently part of the Palva Lab in Glasgow working on E/MEG research. I am studying the functions of dynamic multi-scale oscillation networks in human cognition and theories of brain critically. The main focus of my research is to understand how local neuronal oscillations, their large-scale interactions and dynamics are related to fundamental cognitive functions, in particular visual awareness and attention. I also have a deep interest in the use of more naturalistic or ecologically valid tasks to study complexity of brain oscillations.
