As an educator and a student, I have witnessed the rapid rise of generative AI. My research began with a question: how are STEM students and staff adapting to this new era of technology? While existing studies have explored positive and negative impacts, less attention has been given to how the STEM employers and graduates are affected by this technology. Furthermore, my research will also analyse the perspectives of students with diverse needs and underrepresented groups impacted by generative AI. By analysing the gap between what the stakeholders expect and the university outcomes, my research explores how to optimise the use of generative AI in STEM teaching and learning in STEM Higher Education and provides recommendations for its integration into the curriculum.
