Biography

After completing her BSc (Hons) Biology at the University of Dundee, Stevie gained a PhD from the University of Edinburgh for her investigation into the epigenetic mechanisms underlying unusual systems of reproduction in insects.

She then moved on to a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Edinburgh, where she designed, delivered, and evaluated bioinformatics educational resources.

Stevie has also been involved in Public Engagement throughout her career, particularly with schools, and has completed the NCCPE Engage Academy for Public Engagement Professionals.

Her other academic interests include the scholarship of learning and teaching in Higher Education, and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
