Biography

I was born in Italy and have lived in Scotland since 2004. In 2005, while studying for my PhD, I started teaching on various courses for the Language Centre, the Adult and Continuing Education Department and the Italian section of SMLC. In 2014 I was appointed as Convener of SMLC's Languages for International Mobility and Languages for Special Purposes (IWLP).

I am especially interested in the following: 

  • Foreign language learning and teaching - in particular, oral and aural skills
  • Italian as a second language
  • Italian for English speakers
  • All aspects of Italian grammar
  • Peer feedback within the language class  
  • Online assessment and activities for language learning 
  • Use of Mentimeter for continuous assessment in the language class 
  • Inclusive assessment
