Tara is a clinical academic with an interest long term outcomes from Intensive Care.  As part of a collaborative group she is looking at survival of cancer patients after a critical illness and has received grant funding from CRUK and the BMA TP Gunton Award.  Other interests include: sedation practice and delirium in the critical care area.

The majority of her clinical work centres around being an Intensive Care Consultant within GG&C.  Along with Joanne McPeake they have set up one of the first patient & family advisory committees which aims to improve the patient and relative experience of critical care.  They have also recently received a "SHINE" grant from the Health Foundation to prototype an ICU rehab service.  This is due to start September 2014.
